Where does wool come from?

What’s the great use of wool?

If I was a speaker

A friend of mine asked me to check out these babies at a second hand shop near my office and I did. Now I can’t seem to get it out of my mind. Although the owner never set it up for me to hear it, I know the ‘Sonus Faber’ sound which is absolutely stunning. They are Italian made and are simply gorgeous speakers.

If I was a speaker, I will be just like these Sonus Faber Grand Piano Concerto floorstanders.

The true aim of good speakers is to disappear when the listener closes his eyes,  so that only the music flows as if it is played by live musicians in your living room. In the same way, our aim should be gorgeous speakers and disappear in the presence just to allow God’s truth to shine through.

Yes….“…. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me” - Galatian 2:20

Will it idealise? Will it be awesome? Will many come?

This is just a quick sketch of how the logo may look like.

Surrender to the scientific fact of life

Contemplation, Creation — by Rags @ 8:21 am

I was reading my science book. The speed of light is almost 3 X 10^8 m/s.

The fastest we can go is just a very very small fraction of that.

We will never achieve human travel at the speed of light where time and space has to distort to adjust to the constancy of the speed of light. The theory of relativity says that if a twin travel near the speed of light to a planet and back. The clock on earth will be vastly faster than that in the rocket and the twin on earth grows old and wrinkles faster in the period his sibling brother is away.

We know God is light. So he is very very fast. Other things have to change in order to catch up.  We can never better God, so no matter how great we are, we can only do catch up.

The other alternative is “Be submissive and be at rest to his will” cos he is infact the true Light. perhaps faster than 3 X 10^8 m/s.

Thinking in many boxes

We are brainstorming for big ideas for Holiday Club. I am also thinking of this week’s service appetizer.

To say creativity is to …  think out of the box  is to say …. “let’s don’t care about anything, let’s be wild and crazy”. This may suit the young and the wild at heart but not many of us.

To say creativity is to …  think in many boxes,  makes it more practical, systematic and fit for melancholic people like me.

I like this definition of creativity and its the best I’ve heard in quite a while.

The following video is the coolest of all. Something to do in children church? In Nexus Auditorium? If we have the time, that is. Maybe we have the time…

…Maybe not.

About Tiredness (A Conference Post)

Blog, Creation, Management — by Rags @ November 3, 2007 1:18 am

I was tired after a long day. I think being tired is okay. It’s part of something healthy. In fact I think it’s a problem not to be tired. When we work hard, we sit to think, listen and learn the whole day, we become tired naturally.

I think the real problem is if we are bored. If we are perpetually tired not because we have worked hard or learned hard but because we are purposeless, lazy, sleepy and bored of life. Now, that I think is truly the ‘tired’ problem.

Tired having returned from PhotoshopWorld Asia Pacific 2007, THE Adobe Conference. Great event. So much to digest.

So Why did I go?

1) Because I’m infact .. an IT professional (and a Abode Product user)
2) Because I’ve chalk up almost ZERO hours of training this year
3) Because I wanted to be part of something cool & radically creative
4) Because I registered for it long ago and its no good to back out from it
5) Because the world is more visual oriented and its just not good enough to be plain textual
6) Because I was there last year and I’m the ‘faithful to what I really like’ type
7) Because I wanted to learn things other than what was presented.

  • Events
  • Software design philosophies
  • Presentation
  • Marketing
  • Perspective
  • Life

9) Because I wanted to bump into old colleagues which I often do (& I did!.. Philip was my colleague in my first job here in Singapore, 10 over years ago)
10) Because someone said that I was a workaholic. I guess this showed her
