We bought our house in 1998 after viewing of 2 homes. Perfect home for us for the last 11 years. We put our place on sale last Saturday and got an offer one day later. Closed the deal today.
God is good, He made us no frill home buyer and seller. No fuss no hassle. Get the deal and move on…. Now we wonder where we can move to next year?
I did it. I officially went for training this year. What an achievement.
In 2 days time, I’ll be attending our Global Conference in Kuala Lumpur and facilitating “Be A Kids Builder” Workshop there before a week later, coming back to facilitate “The One Thing” sessions @ The HopeKids Leadership Retreat.
I enjoy a life in balance, to train and be trained. Our dream is that everyone has a chance to have both in our communities.
I woke up this morning excited that Mag is home. She was away with her company on a cruise. Last night, I celebrated her birthday early on the Singapore Flyer and with some seafood because it’ll be a terribly busy two weeks. Just having hosted my Malaysian clan in Singapore, it was a great way to break to the next part. It’s HIM Global conference this week and our HopeKids Leadership Retreat the next. I’ve got lessons to do.
I woke up also having the thought that hey God didn’t call us to ‘do things’, God called us to ‘make disciples’. Therefore I have to not fill my todo list with things but with people. When I do, I will get more discipleship going (and maybe who knows, more things done in the process)
However we have to be careful about having people in our todo list because we are to love people more than things. Infact we are not to love things. We are to do things but love people. Sometimes we do people and love things and that’s the greatest tragedy in life because when we are old, we’ll know what folly that is.
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. - 2 Corinthians 10:5
There’s arguments and pretensions of all kinds that play out in our mind. Because its in the mind, its private. When its private, it is extremely dangerous. You should develop a risk to do dangerous things. Take risks by taking captive of thoughts that is against God’s truth. It may have served us once but it doesn’t serve us anymore. Do it because one shift of belief and awareness will one big difference.
5 Steps deal with your private thoughts….
1. Write down the top 3 repeated thoughts that is bothering you now. Do you like those thoughts?
2. If you don’t, write down for each of the thoughts why it is bothering you?
3. Write down the things that has to be true in other for it to truly bother you?
4. Are these things true or could something else be true instead?
5. Write down an alternative truth that will better serve you now to move forward.
Following the lead of a certain person, I’m doing the book of James! (after doing Nehemiah). Not that I’m going through severe suffering but to know someone who advice us to consider trials of all kinds as joy of the purest form, any urban folk serving in a fast pace ministry should take notes and pay attention.
Read some really great stuff this morning. I really do find doing books a real cool thing to do.
When I felt like country music, I remembered this Rosanne Cash’s song. Only recently I learned that this song was a cover version of a hit of her dad Johnny Cash. A great song to listen to before retiring and reflecting the day.
Yes family greatness can be passed down. And check out the conversation between two great guitars (the Telecaster and the Martin) towards the last part of the video.
These are two photos Fenny took of Steven and I in Bali a few weeks ago.
Its unfair to take photos in odd circumstance when we aren’t ready (and not breathing in). Also our 6 pecks fellowship and unites together when we are on vacation.
Now below is a natural photo my children took of me in Science center under very normal circumstance.
Way 1>>
Decidedly stop having faith and rely on logic in everything that you do, all the time. Refuse to accept your crazy side, reject everything that is of the unknown and you may just see yourself crack in the stress of earthly concerns.
Way 2>>
Deliberately go crazy with radical imagination and faith. Believe you can and you may just see yourself soaring and swimming in the unknown even though you are travelling on land.
So in a nutshell, the better way of going crazy is when you intentionally do it before it gets you there without a choice.
