But the Lord’s love
for those who have respect for him
lasts for ever and ever.
Their children’s children will know
that he always does what is right.
He always loves those who keep his covenant.
He always does what is right for those who remember to obey his commands. (NIRV)
The Lord’s love is everlasting and it is for me. My fear for Him will be known to my children and my children’s children. I want to leave a legacy of someone who does what is right.
The last few weeks and months has been tremendously hectic. It hasn’t been easy but our fear of the Lord oozes inspiration always. He has been with there guiding us and giving us the best of life can bring. And the legacy of the best life always will include some form of hardship.
Today I know I can feel good about myself because God feels good about me. Malacca and Kuala Lumpur, here we come.
There are 2 types of pain in life, the pain of discipline and the pain of regret. Welcome the pain of discipline in order to avoid the pain of regret.
Speaking of pain, I got a copy of Melanie Pain’s new album for my wife, she’s the french artiste who played here in Singapore a few months ago at the Mosaic Music Festival. Her “Pain” is not ‘Pain” but pronounced in french as “Parn”.
Pain is not just how you pronounced it, it is also how you define it.
I have been in times where I’m disciplined, I’m praying, thankful and just spiritually strong.
I have also been in times where I feel lost and faraway from God and spiritually just not that hot.
Both times, I’m still going to church, meetings, reading the word and doing my thing.
Just that in one, I theologize, I protect and judge those who opposes me. The other, I just innovate, create and think about how to bless people who opposes me.
A good measurement of how we are spiritually is if we spend our time theologizing and opposing? Or are we innovating, creating and blessing?
It’s kids camp this weekend. We are going full steam to innovate, create and thinking of discipleship and blessing people.
What I like about Kuching and about this leadership conference?
1) The city is a safe, friendly and tranquil place.
2) The food is amazingly good.
3) The Sarawak River runs through the city which reminds me of the Lord’s blessings and hands on it.
4) The conference is hosted by a great church with a great vision to make a impact in Kuching, Sarawak and the world.
5) The conference is a conference in transition. It has new elements and fresh things.
6) The conference marks a new era in our movement with a new name, a refreshed mission statement and contemporary new logo.
I’m a sucker for old things but I like new things when it comes to work of the Spirit.
I’ll be flying Tiger Airways in less than 5 hours time. I like the idea of a flying Tiger. Would be better if its a White Tiger. Joining the rest at our Leadership Conference in Kuching. I like the idea of a town named “Cat” (English translation of the word Kuching in Malay). Would be better if its a Tiger and even more a White Tiger. A town named Harimau Putih would be awesome.
I like ideas, ideas behind an idea and even ideas that is ahead of an idea. Can’t wait for a time of contributing, learning, strategising, fellowshipping, refueling and coming back with ideas for the WIN in the Kingdom.
“…we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” - 2 Corinthians 10:5
Satan battles us mostly in the mind, his lies, arguments and temptations are aimed at making lies truth in the mind. It is important to do daily battle on that front. From experience, I must tell you that the battle gets easier the more you invest in doing battling there.
Our mindset before adversity determines the breaking or the breakdown of our mindset during adversity. It’s not about how strong we are during the battle but how strong we are when we are on our daily routine. Don’t be so uncool to work on your financial, physical, emotional health and not exercise the mind. Do some exercise in the mind and strengthen your mindset with biblical truths. Take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ.
It’s great to start your day in the morning with some great decisions about what you’ll see. There’s good in everything under the sun. Deciding to find that thing and call it a blessing is a radical attitude. It is essential too. It is true that while one sees opportunity in adversity there is another who sees adversity in every opportunity. It’s all how you let your mind decide.
3 more hours before service starts. Anything good to be done is possible. It has been decided.
There were some children at the Hope Centre Flag Day
All ready for a fantastic morning of doing good work
Preparing to work hard and be in line for duty
Some worked hard even though they don’t feel terribly well
Some just need to try a bit harder
Overall it was really a great day with the team. We learned that to be useful we need to wake up early and do things purposefully with a smile. I also learn that maybe children can be better fund raisers than me… by a mile.
