I got it mixed up. I need more humanity in my words and spirituality in my actions, not the other way around

Look Within, Let Go What’s Old

    Contemplation, Management — by Rags @ February 26, 2009 8:24 am

    Tips That Will Help….

    1) What are old things that clutter rather than inspire. Old encouragement cards. Old victories. Old successes. Don’t hang on to old glory… destroy it so that the new can come.

    2) Sort out what’s already old and has already served its purpose, let it go. Either pass it on or let it die.

    3) Sort out what is to remain, are you excited about it? If you are not and are sure that God still wants you to hold on, then innovate and recreate. Upgrade what you do. Revamp your job and give your work a new meaning.

    4) Learn from all past experiences. If you have ended something terribly, it is okay to go back take the lesson and chuck the experiences out. I believe every single thing is only worth a lesson.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! – 2 Corinthians 5:17

Yes don’t waste your life doing things that God doesn’t want you to do. Do what God wants you to do.

    G.K.Chesterton Quote

    Contemplation — by Rags @ 1:11 am

“You say grace before meals. All right. But I say grace before the concert and the opera, and grace before the play and pantomime, and grace before I open a book, and grace before sketching, painting, swimming, fencing, boxing, walking, playing, dancing and grace before I dip the pen in the ink” - G.K.Chesterton

    Goodmorning Worms!

    Blog — by Rags @ February 25, 2009 7:58 am

There’s nothing like a great morning club. This morning I had a great dose of inspiration and life. After that, I sent May Ann to school earlier than normal and noticed there are just as many early birds than those who barely arrive. There must be a statistics of the benefit of early risers to those who were forced to wake up.

I got to listened to an audio CD which was a neat change from my usual routine. Whatever I do, I always learn a great deal of life lessons in the morning.

Starting my day with the focus not to do my role but to bless with my role .. makes a big difference.

‘The Sound of Music’ is today’s theme

I was at the supermarket and I was looking for a theme for the day. After some deliberation, I decided it’ll be ’The Sound of Music’. It’s either that or ‘Nutella’ but I think its better to be of joy than of calories.

I’m spending time with things of joy, the sound of music and other higher things because we all have a choice what we want to fill our day.

4 Things That Made Me Feel Good

    Contemplation, Management — by Rags @ February 21, 2009 8:47 am

    mourning.jpg

I woke up this morning, I don’t feel good about myself.  The Lord led me to Psalm 30:1-12 and here’s what happened in my morning club….

“You turned my wailing into dancing …”
Thing 1. I ask myself what’s the blessing (or the positive) in my wailing (negative) and I got it, 3 of them in total.

“…. you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy…”
Thing 2. I removed all bad labels of myself and give myself better ones according to God’s point of view… and I got it.

“… that my heart may sing to you and not be silent …”
Thing 3. I praised God and declare his goodness out loud

“… O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever.”
Thing 4. And I put my time with God and his encouragement this morning in my blessings list.

Basically I feel good about myself because God feels good about me.
I was not but I’m now ready for the HopeKids United Service this afternoon. Rock on!

    Learning to love children

    Children's Ministry — by Rags @ February 19, 2009 8:09 pm

The secret is just to believe that “children are more enlightened than us”.

I know you don’t believe that but think about it. Don’t you think God has something that he can show us through the little ones which we could otherwise not learn? Isn’t it true that as Luke 10:21 claims that God has hidden things from the learned and wise and revealed them to little children?

Tale of a Father and Son

    Contemplation — by Rags @ 10:22 am

” An entrepreneur father came home from work last Monday, glad to be home, but as tired as usual. Just wanting to rest and read the paper for a minute or two before tackling the homefront and listening to the kids chatter.
Just as he opened the door, his seven-year-old son, Mark, a serious first child, came up to him and asked, “Dad, how much do you make an hour?” The man snapped, “Mark, leave me alone with that kind of stuff, now. I’m tired. Go play and we’ll talk about this later.” Mark persisted, “Dad, just tell me, how much do you make an hour?”
The man got his “out-or-patience tone” going and said, “Why do you need to know that? Just go play and let me rest and read the paper, Mark. You know I’m always tired when I get home from work.”
Mark kept going, “Please, dad, just tell me how much you make an hour.”
The father snapped again, “Twenty dollars. Now can I read the paper?”
Mark lit up and asked, “Can I borrow ten dollars from you?”
The father thundered, “Of course not. Now leave me alone for a while, son.”
After he read part of the paper and felt more rested and relaxed, the man started feeling guilty. He found Mark in the backyard, just sitting on the swing and looking pensive. The father sat in the other swing and said, “Sorry I snapped at you, son. Here is the ten dollars you wanted.
Mark lit up again. He reached in his pocket and pulled out a very crumbled ten dollar bill, then said…
“Now I have enough money. Dad, could I buy an hour of your time? “

This is what the Lord has been speaking to me through a series of incidents and events the past few weeks. Singapore is envisioned to be the Antioch of Asia. It will be a city of salt, light and influence. And the key for that to happen, lies with the children. And children cannot fulfill their potential unless their fathers are connected or reconnected back to them.

This is a call to fathers in the Spirit of Elijah to turn their hearts back to the children, and for the children’s back to them.

” …I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers”
    .. Malachi 4:5-6
