    Mag’s birthday

Last Wednesday, I celebrated the birthday of the woman who bore all my children. We had the buffet dinner at Holiday Inn Parkview’s Window On the Park.  The food was a disappointment but the company is still wonderful after all these years. Mag has been and still is after so many years…the most wonderful person I know and marrying her is the most blessed thing that ever happen to me.

4 Ways To Dream & One Step Forward Daily

    Leadership, Management — by Rags @ November 29, 2007 12:36 am

    dscf2335.JPG

Way #1. Dream What You Would Do If You Don’t Have To Pay Bills Anymore

Way #2. Dream What You Would Do If You Aren’t Scared of Success

Way #3. Dream What You Would Do If You Have No Fear And Can Never Fail

Way #4. Dream What You Would Do If You Aren’t Living Someone Elses Dream Today

After that, take one step towards either

    • Managing your money,
    • Letting go of mediocrity,
    • Beating your fears or
    • Living your own (not someone elses) God given dreams.

Do this on the first day, and then repeat the exercise until all the above are done properly. By then your dreams would have come true.

It’s good to dream. Dream the path where God wants us to go.

Some to give a great speech infront of a big group of people. Some to write a book. Some to lecture in a tertiary institute. Some to bring up kids to stand on their two feet. Some dream of overcoming procrastination. Some dream of planting kids church overseas.

As for me… I dream that people will dream

In HopeKids, we want to GET IT, DREAM IT and DO IT. Looking forward to the new year and the rest of this for Glory of the Risen King!

    A Management X-Seed

    Management — by Rags @ November 27, 2007 5:40 pm

A management quote that sums things up.

Edward Deming, the father of quality movement, the man who made the biggest difference to Japan’s rise as an economic powerhouse after the world war said ….

“If you cannot describe what you’re doing as a process, you don’t know what you are doing”.

I’m just wondering, so am I blogging because A) it’s another thing I do in my life or B) doing this so that something else can happen to make a difference to a process of things that will contribute to the cause of a vision ????

The HopeKids Leadership Team will be…

    Art of Children’s Ministry - Episode 2

    Blog, Children's Ministry — by Rags @ November 23, 2007 1:10 am

Going away for our leadership retreat…

This is episode 2 on “Discipline In Kids Service” for those here in Singapore.

Actually I think I look and sound funny in this one.. but hey there’s always some mistakes to make…

    … Just making them early

    I cannot believe it is

    Blog — by Rags @ 12:58 am

The top keyword searched to get to my blog is “cigarettes”.

How can that be? I’ve never used that word here. Infact I cannot even spell it. Took me like 4 tries before I gave up and referred.

    Conflict Management Crash Course

    Blog, Leadership, Management — by Rags @ November 21, 2007 8:32 am

Facilitated Lesson 7 on Conflict Management yesterday.

A bowl of cornflakes is one of my favourite breakfast. Just had one this morning.
    conflakesbowl.gif

The company says the simple things in life is often the best and I agree. I really like it because its simple. It’s a corn made into a crispy flake. However sometimes people use conflakes to make cakes and its not simple anymore. it is crushed to make cookies. Some sprinkle them onto dishes. Some of us love pouring milk on it and if not consumed immediately, it turns soggy. If left for half a day, it can become rotten. After days you’ll find maggots.

The conclusion about conflicts is “Eat it when it’s fresh”. When its still simple. Before it gets soggy and rotten.

That’s the crash course for those who missed the lesson.

    Benedictian Spirituality

    Contemplation — by Rags @ November 20, 2007 12:16 pm

I always respect Benedictian Spirituality of ‘Pray & Work’. This quote is from the Rule of St. Benedict which I’m a big fan.

“Now, first of all, whenever you begin to undertake any good work, beg Him with most earnest prayer to bring it to completion”

Indeed, work started without completion is no work at all.

I just notice that while the Rule encourage the balance of “Pray & Work”, my personal motto is “Work & Pray”. Similar yet so different…
