Tomorrow is the day. I’ll stand looking up at a 12,000 feet mountain and say …. ’move’ and if that doesn’t work….’move please?’. OK its no turning back, I’ll give it my best shot! Pray for me …. or the mountain cos either one of us have to move.
These folks are my inspiration.
Mag and I will be flying off to Lombok, Indonesia tomorrow afternoon with KC and some of his friends. Will be back Tuesday.
UNSWA (University of New South Wales) setup an asian campus in Singapore and quit after 3 months. Why? They cited its because of low enrolment of students. I mean its only 3 months how high can the enrolment be?
Seth Godin in his book “The Dip” stated that if we do not think we can ever be the best in what we do, quit. That’s how we know if we should press on or give up. That’s how radical he is which I totally respect. Yet in practice, that will mean almost all of us ought to quit and look for something else to do. Majority of people aren’t an ambitious or visionary lot. But what if people quit and yet can’t find something else they can be the best in?
My take is to know that you can be the best in all that you are doing, in your own uniquely designed way. I may not be the best manager but I can be the best manager with the talent, personality and style given to me. I may not be the best teacher, but I can be the teacher in the gifting, make up and style given to me.
I can be the best in my unique way. The worst thing is to quit knowing that I can be the best me. The second worst thing is not to quit but try to be good as someone else.
I listened to this once through on my Creative Zen. It’s simply Amazing. His Mahler 10 has to be one of the better Mahler 10 I have. I have also been impressed by their Mahler 5 very very much.
Who’s Antoni Wit? Who is the Polish National Symphony Orchestra? Who are these unknowns in the classical music industry?
Once is a while we have someone like Antoni Wit surprise us with quality work without big budget and fanfare. And I get filled with hope all over again.
This photo was taken at the peak of Kuala Lumpur Tower when we were in courtship years ago. We were so sure of one another, of our love for each other. Our courtship was moving towards the path of marriage. Infact that was the trip where I brought Mag to meet my parents and to talk about marriage. It was a wonderful phase of life.
The christian life is a long courtship where we impress Him not because we need to but because we want to. We know His love for us is assured and guaranteed. With the cross as evidence, we know He is faithful and true. The journey in this side of life will always be a lovely and wonderful phase of our eternal life.
Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready - Rev. 19:7
Two of my favourite working shirts don’t have pockets (This is one). I’m pretty lost on days I wear them because I don’t know where to put name cards, receipts and little scribbles I make on napkins. Still getting used to them though I’ve had them for months now.
What price a nice looking shirt? What price looking nice for most people?
Francis Chan has a ministry without big fanfare. He is committed to the truth of God’s Word where the bible is preached verse by verse and even the hard bits are presented as it is (it’s kinda like my church). I personally feel this is what makes the difference between developing a shallow christian life and an authentic one.
We need strong Word based ministries with children too. I recommend you to check out this man and the church.
At the end of a long and eventful day, if we just spend some time looking at nature*, we’ll realise that some of the work done are truly worth it and some not worth our worrying or bringing it to the next day.
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. - Thess 5:16-18
So sleep like a baby as much as possible. Good night guys.
